Call for Investigative Articles in Public Procurement
Democracy Plus (D+), as part of the project “Enhancing Transparency, Accountability, and Efficiency in Public Spending through Public Procurement in Kosovo,” funded by the EU, announces an open call for the writing of two (2) investigative articles by two (2) experienced journalists focusing on public procurement topics in Kosovo.
General Qualification Criteria:
- The journalist must have experience in writing investigative articles in the field of public procurement.
- The article should be written about a tender with concrete and interesting findings, meaning it should be investigative and not merely descriptive of procedures.
- The topic of the article must not have been previously covered by any journalist, media outlet, or non-governmental organization.
- The proposed topic must be agreed upon with D+ before the journalist begins writing.
- The article should be between 1000-1500 words and written in Albanian.
- The article should be published in Albanian in the media outlet where the journalist works, under the journalist’s name, with a disclaimer provided by D+.
Application Procedure:
- CV
- Two previous samples of writing in the field of public procurement
- The journalist should submit two (2) topic proposals with a brief elaboration on how the article will be developed, to the email address [email protected], by 23.08.2024.
Duration:
- The draft article should be submitted within 20 days from the selection of the topic in collaboration with D+.
- The final article should be submitted 10 days after receiving comments from D+ on the draft.
Remuneration:
- Upon approval of the article by D+ and the EU, and after its publication in the media outlet where the journalist works, a remuneration of 476.19 EUR (gross) will be provided. D+ will sign a service contract with the engaged journalist for this purpose.
