Higher Tobacco Taxes for Better Health and Revenue Outcomes in Kosovo

While Kosovo has been enacting several tobacco control policies over the years, recent data has shown smoking prevalence in the country remains high at more than 40%.

Our research found that a 25% price increase on cigarettes would reduce consumption by 11.1% overall while also increasing revenue collected from tobacco products by 26.2%.
