The Core Working Group Continues its Efforts on Legal Framework for Seasonal Employment
The Core Working Group established by the Ministry of Finance, Labor and Transfers (MFLT) to work on the proposals and developing solutions for the formalization of seasonal employment in agriculture has held its third meeting to discuss the findings and recommendations on the legal framework of the seasonal employment.
Experts from GIZ and D+ have presented their findings on seasonal employment in Kosovo, and the following steps to regulate this field legally. The presentations focused on the opportunities for this type of employment, identification of legal challenges, amendment of existing laws, or drafting a new law that regulates this field. Discussions and exchanging ideas with the participants contributed to understanding the needs and recommendations for improving the legal framework in seasonal employment.
The Working Group will draft a legislative plan that addresses these issues and will continue its efforts by reviewing recommendations, deciding on amendments, or creating a new law for seasonal employment.
The project is being implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), in cooperation with Democracy Plus in the frame of Open Regional Funds for South-East Europe – Modernization of Municipal Services.
