D+ and the investigative journalists of Insajderi have come together to implement this project with the aim of supporting freedom of media and freedom of speech through research and publications.

A number of activities will be implemented in the course of the project duration, including research of cases related to threats and hate speech against journalists for the purpose of compiling a thorough analysis on the issue. Furthermore, the project has foreseen activities related to official requests for access to public documents, as well as an analysis on the treatment of journalists by public institutions.

Through these activities, D+ and Insajderi aim at encouraging public pressure on the prosecution to conduct a more thorough investigation on threats and attacks towards journalists, as well as to increase the responsiveness of public institutions when they receive official requests for access to public documents by the media and civil society.

This project is funded by the European Union through the small grants programme “Protecting Media Freedom and Freedom of Expression in the Western Balkans” implemented by the Croatian Journalists’ Association as part of the regional project Western Balkan’s Regional Platform for Advocating Media Freedom and Journalists’ Safety, carried out through partnership of six regional journalists’ associations – Independent Journalists’ Association of Serbia (IJAS), Association of BH Journalists (BHJ), Croatian Journalists’ Association (CJA), Association of Journalists of Kosovo (AJK), Association of Journalists of Macedonia (AJM) and the Trade Union of Media of Montenegro (TUMM).” The project implementation will begin on October 1st, 2017, and is expected to be finalized by May 31st of 2018.
